Kallen Canyon - A Hidden paradise in Garo hIlls of Meghalaya
Meghalaya is known for its rivers, river canyons, and Caves. Natural formations have always been places of attraction for adventure geeks. Few place including Kallen Canyon is a places to be explored.It is undoutedly one of best places to visit after river flow recedes.The hidden canyon opens up to exhibit its natural formations to outer world.

Not much is known about the Kallen Canyon nor told about these places. Although I was in proximity to Wari,s in the South Garo hills of Meghalaya. I was in a dilemma until I personally experienced it. The places such as Renang dhare, Kore Nokmong waterfalls, Siju Caves, En Nakama, Chisok Caves, and Wari Chora, in fact, are major attractions Those keen on exploring too, are keen on visiting the popular ones first that are top list
Those places discussed were on the list for me too. After exploring the prominent one, I wanted to visit someplace bit offbeat. On enquiring, very few knew about Kallen Canyon - A Hidden Paradise.
Though in proximity to En Nakama cave, very few recommend this place. After visiting Wari Chora, all members were fascinated by it. Finally, I made up my mind to explore it. After a bit of cajoling, our guide, made a decision to escort us to explore the hidden beauty
As we reach the mouth of the Canyon. A narrow passage gives way to the river valley.
What Makes Kallen Canyon Great?
1. A Rocky Amphitheatre
The picturesque canyon presents a scene of never-ending colorful rock formations along with unique shapes of reddish brown, characteristic of the mountainous terrain.
With the high natural walls and perilous terrains, everything the canyon has to present is a pure gem for your reminiscence in the future. This river canyon is one of the foremost breathtaking and definitely keeps you dumbstruck.
2. A Gem of a Trek
A walk through amazing natural terrain and presenting beautiful views all around. The light and shadow play mesmerizes the onlooker. It reminds one of the macchanas gold movie of yester years. They make for the single best adventure yet discovered by mankind.
3. Stream of Joy
Gently flows the river, and water cascades jutting through rocks. The valley is flanked by hills on both sides as the stream flowed a meandering course? Well, the River looks as if someone picked it right out of a child’s drawing and placed it there for the world to enjoy.
The stream flows through quaintly which allows you to stand on it and be spellbound by the sheer magnificence of the view that engulfs you.
