2. Chisok Caves

Not many locals know about this cave. Chisok Cave is located at Emandurabanda (A'sakgre), South Garo Hills.60 km approx drive from Baghmara via Chokpot and 8 km approx from Chokpot South Garo Hills. This Cave is one of the most beautiful Caves in Garo Hills. The stalactites and stalagmites are the main attractions in this Cave.

3. Siju Caves

Siju Cave is located in the South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya near Naphak Lane and the Simsang River game reserve. It is also known as a bat cave. As it is home to many species of bats. It is one of the longest caves in the Indian sub-continent. Siju village is located 30 Km from Baghmara and the Siju cave is at a distance of 5 Km from the Siju Bazar on the bank of the mighty Simsang river. It is also called Siju Do∙bakkol.

How to Reach

To reach these Caves, you have to first reach either Guwahati or Shillong. You can hire a car from either Guwahati or Shillong to reach these caves Don't rely on public transport in the area.

Exploring Caves

1. It is better to visit caves between November to March. Don't plan your trip during the rainy season.

2. Go with a local guide, who has knowledge of it and the surroundings.

3. Wear proper attire and carry a powerful torch or headlamps for better visibility.

4. Don't venture or do self-exploration without the assistance of a guide.
